Russia Track and Field Remain Suspended

Per BBC:

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and 68 Russian athletes attempted to overturn the suspension, implemented by the body that governs world athletics.

But the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) has ruled it can stand.

A handful of Russian athletes could still compete as neutrals at the Rio Games, which start on 5 August.

No shit. You should basically just suspend every Russian athlete ever for everything. They are all cheaters, who blatantly are using crap like, “Gorilla testosterone.” It’s a fact that people like to conveniently ignore. That being said, it’s upsetting to see the Russians not go to the Olympics. Even if most of their athletes are going it won’t be the same. Everyone knows that if the commies aren’t there the Olympics basically don’t count. (side note, it is also a shame that we now get to see all of our athletes get Zika, but no Russian runners or throwers. So, in a way, they have been done a huge favor.

However, Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva – one of the 68 to appeal to Cas – said the ruling was “a blatant political order”, while the Russian Foreign Ministry called it a a “crime against sport”.

This part made me laugh. “Blatant political order,” “crime against sport,” What does that even mean? You cheated. You always cheat. This time your entire country got caught. Get over it. Get to cheating better. If the Olympics wanted to be political you’d never be allowed in. It would be a crime against sport to let the cheaters go unpunished, as you historically have.
